Question: Why should the diet of runners be any different from that of others?
Answer: The dietary requirements for runners and those indulging in other forms of extreme endurance exercises is specific to their physical activities. Stamina is built via nutrition that improves performance. The muscle loss can be reduced to a minimum and muscle recovery is speedy via correct nutrition. Endurance workouts create toxins in the body and these are corrected via nutrition. Besides those mentioned, there are various other reasons for nutrition being specific to the activity, especially for runners.
